Colours:
Congratulations to Trinity squash players’ great performance at UCD for the colour games.
It was an overall great win for the Trinity A teams (Ladies and Men) and Men’s B and C.
With only one game lost over five matches the As and the Men’s B team gave a good squash lesson to those Belfield guys.
Also congratulations to Ladies’ B and Men’s D for a very good show.
The night ended with team celebrations in the Pav followed by a night out.
Tour:
After a trip to Oxford last year, Trinity squash club continues its campaign of Britain, with a trip to Scotland in 2011 and more precisely Edinburgh.
Tour will start on the 21st of January and will finish on the 23rd.
Serious squash and fun should be expected.
League:
Trinity A (Ladies):
At the moment Trinity’s premier Ladies team led by our club captain Sarah Corcoran is in mid table (4/6) with 52 points. With a good record of three wins in the last four games we can hope for better ranking to come for our 1st ladies team.
Trinity A (Men):
After a rough start Trinity’s premier Men’s team led by John Dillon are currently placed second last of the table with 36 points.
Coming up from 1st division last year it took them a bit of time to adjust to the very high level of play of the premier division.
Trinity B (Ladies):
Trinity’s 2nd division Ladies team is new this year and is part of the club’s attempt to develop girls squash on campus. This first season has given them hard and challenging games. The ladies are seriously enjoying some competitive squash with great fun and craic also thrown in.
Trinity B (Men):
At the moment Trinity’s 2nd division team led by the Men’s captain Doug Doherty is doing very well and is currently placed 4th with 86 points, only 16 points off the leader.
With four wins in a row we will be keeping a serious eye on this team who will hopefully climb up the ladder to become the winning team.
Trinity C (Men):
At the moment trinity C led by Harry Gilbertson is second last of their table in 5th division.
With the players on this team and a win after a bad run of four losses it seems as though things could change.
Trinity D (Men):
Trinity D led by Alexander Johnson is currently ranked 7th out of 10 on their ladder with 40 points.
After two wins to start with, they lost their four last games.
We are hoping see change as from next week when they play away at Mount Pleasant.
Club’s 75th anniversary:
This year Dublin University Squash and Racquet Club will be celebrating its 75th year of existence. The event will take place on the 10th of March in the dining hall, where prestigious alumni and members of the club will be present.
Club as successful as always:
It seems as though DUSRC has kicked off to another good year with many new members and still a lot of the old crew.
We would like to thank our top class coach Elvy for his excellent coaching, the number of hours he puts into the club and his irresistible sense of humour.
Also congratulations to Sarah Corcoran our Club captain for recieving another sports scholarship.
We are all very proud of her.
